German spy photographers caught up with a 2012 BMW M5 prototype again. Most of the camo is off now, so you can clearly see the nose and front airdam on the Motorsport version of the F10 5 Series.

Around back, the quad pipes are prominent, and photographers actually got a shot of BMW’s top performance sedan up on a lift, so the dual exhaust system’s supersize plumbing is visible, too.

As we’ve reported, the 2012 M5 will lose the current sedan’s unforgettable V10 and adopt a version of the automaker’s twin-turbocharged and direct-injected 4.4-liter V8. We expect it to make in the neighborhood of 570-590 horsepower.

The F10 BMW M5 will also lose the single-clutch SMG automated manual transmission and get the most robust version yet of the M DCT dual-clutch gearbox.
